I don’t even remember when I first knew that there was a God. It seems like I have always known that. Even as a child, I would communicate with Him often in my mind asking for His help and expressing thanks. It has always been a comfort to know that He exists, that a Heavenly Father is there to listen, love me, and believe in me. I often feel the peace, direction, comfort, and protection that He offers.
I cannot imagine going through my life without a Heavenly Father. I know that I am NEVER ALONE when He is with me. I am soooo far from perfect and have many faults and failings, but just like an earthly father, He loves me anyway and I feel that. I seek to please Him by doing good and being good. I want to have confidence before Him. I want to return to live with Him in my Heavenly Home when this life is over.
To those who are reading this, it is my desire for YOU to know the same things. We may be of different religions and beliefs and I respect that, but we are all His children. YOU HAVE A HEAVENLY FATHER WHO LOVES AND BELIEVES IN YOU. YOU CAN FEEL HIS LOVE AND LIGHT. YOU CAN HAVE HIS DIRECTION AND PROTECTION IN YOUR LIFE.
I teach children on Sunday’s in my church. They sing a beautiful song that talks about this:
It’s called, A Child’s Prayer
(Verse by the Children)
Heavenly Father, are you really there,
And do you hear and answer every child’s prayer
Some say that Heaven is far away,
But I feel it close around me every day.
Heavenly Father, I remember now
Something that Jesus told disciples long ago,
“Suffer the children to come to me”
Father in prayer I’m coming now to thee.
(Verse by adults in answer to the child’s question)
Pray, He is there
Speak, He is listening
You are His child
His love now surrounds you
He, hears your prayer
He loves the children
Of such is the Kingdom
The Kingdom of Heaven.
